Telltale Games have revealed the first trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2.

In a special event hosted by Geoff Keighley of The Game Awards, fans got a much-anticipated look at the next season of the game, which is inspired by Bill Willingham’s Fables comic books.

In the trailer, protagonist Bigby Wolf is sharing seen speaking to someone about his work as a private detective, with the trailer showing Bigby at work staking out a motel room before getting into an altercation with another character. The trailer ends with a tease of Bigby’s wolf form emerging through a broken wall before confirming that the game will be released in 2023.

During the reveal event, Keighley was joined by key figures from the game. These included Telltale Games CEO James Otillie and Nick Herman of AdHoc Studios, who will be co-developing the game with Telltale Games. They discussed the process of developing The Wolf Among Us 2, including the move to creating the game in Unreal Engine 4 and how they will be working the signature art style of previous Telltale Games titles into the new release.

Also joining Keighley were returning voice actors Adam Harrington (Bigby) and Erin Yvette (Snow), who will be reprising their roles in season two. Also returning will be the episodic format of the first Wolf Among Us, with five episodes planned for season two. Otillie explained that the current plan is for all five episodes to be completed by developers before the release of episode one in 2023.

After the conclusion of the event, the first pieces of in-game imagery were unveiled on social media.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 for a 2023 release.
