The Space Arts Centre announced their 2022 spring season line-up this week.
The 20 new shows and events on offer were revealed in a Twitter thread this Monday. Starting the line-up is Nabucco, an four act opera by Giuseppe Verdi featuring concert performances by developing artists. Additionally, shows include the Virginia Woolf adaptation Room by Heather Alexander and Pass It On, a showcase of monologues from people who are from marginalised genders.
The season begins on 4 February and lasts across the entirety of spring, finishing in late June. Other highlights include Soldier Tales, five short plays written by veterans and their families; Casterbridge, an adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel; and Theatre Fury’s Abigail, which is set in Massachusetts in 1692 and tells the true story of Abigail Williams.
The final production is the post-war biographic show S.O.E, which is available from 17-19 June.
“Our shows are carefully picked,” The Space Arts Theatre’s website states. “We look for work that excites, entertains, and engages. We work with bright young things, established artists and everyone in-between.”
The launch night will take place on 3 February. The event will preview what’s to come and offers the public a chance to meet those involved in the season. It will also be livestreamed.
Similarly, livestreams of each event will be available on a scaling pay system starting at £5. Early bird tickets are also readily available, with those booking more than two weeks in advance getting 20% off.
