Forza Horizon 4

The festival comes to Britain’s roads in the latest edition of the Forza Horizon franchise. From the leafy villages of the Cotswolds through the picturesque Lake District to the winding streets of Edinburgh, players will be able to race their way through the country working their way to the top of the racers rankings. Action packed street races, daring stunt trials and even racing for a film crew await players, with crossplay between console and PC meaning that players will be joined by up to 70 other players as they explore all that the country has to offer.

Players who pre-order any edition of Forza Horizon 4 will have the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 added to their player garage for free. The Deluxe Edition features a copy of the game along with the Formula Drift Car Pack and the Forza Horizon Car Pass – which will feature an additional 42 cars for the player to have in their player garage. The Ultimate Edition will feature the game, Car Pass, two additional expansions, VIP membership and limited edition steelbook. The Ultimate Edition will also include the Day One Car Pack, which includes a selection of cars made famous by one of Britain’s most well known literary and cinematic figures – James Bond.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Write your own chapter in history with this ancient adventure. In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players will have the choice of playing as either Kassandra or Alexios as they make their way through the story. Sentenced to death as a child, the player’s chosen character is now living the life of a mercenary as war rages on between the city-states of Athens and Sparta. As the descendant of Leonidas, Kassandra/Alexios is in the midst of an ongoing struggle for power. With a broken spear the only tie to their past, they must now forge their own path through this tumultuous time.

Players who pre-order any edition of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will unlock an additional mission – The Blind King. The Omega Edition will feature a copy of the game along with a 32-page artbook, world map and the Kronos Pack, which will contain five pieces of epic armour, an epic weapon and epic mount along with a temporary boost to XP and currency. The Gold Edition will feature Early Access to the game, special cover artwork and the Season Pass. Included in the Season Pass will be two special story arcs to be released in the coming months – The Legacy of the Hidden Blade and The Fate of Atlantis – as well as a copy of the remastered Assassin’s Creed III with all DLC’s included. The Medusa Edition will also feature a copy of the game with Early Access and will also feature all of the digital content, a 64-page artbook, world map, a copy of the game’s soundtrack and a limited edition Fallen Gorgon statue.

WWE 2K19

Step into the ring for this year’s WWE 2K release. In WWE 2K19, players will be able to step into the shoes of some of their favourite superstars – both past and present – for a number of challenges and game modes. Returning to the franchise of 2K19 is Showcase mode. This mode will put players into the boots of Daniel Bryan, who recently returned to in-ring action, as they follow his career through the scope of some of his greatest matches. In Career, the player will be able to take their own creations from humble beginnings all the way to Wrestlemania and championship glory, while MyPlayer Towers will challenge players in tiered combat to unlock new characters and locations. MyPlayer Towers is also where players can find the Million Dollar Challenge for a chance to take on current WWE Champion and cover star AJ Styles for $1,000,000.

Players who pre-order any edition of WWE 2K19 will unlock Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio for their rosters. The Deluxe Edition will include a copy of the game with Early Access and Season Pass – which includes the pre-order bonus characters – and will be available both in physical and digital form. The Woooo! Edition will celebrate the career of 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Included in the edition will be a copy of the Deluxe Edition, a commemorative plaque featuring a piece of one of Flair’s robes, an exclusive Stylin’ and Profilin’ figure of Ric Flair from Funko, an individually numbered replica of Flair’s Hall of Fame Ring and exclusive content for WWE SuperCard featuring Ric Flair, his daughter Charlotte Flair and cover star AJ Styles all in a limited edition box featuring images from throughout Flair’s illustrious career.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

For Call of Duty’s fourth Black Ops title, players will have the option of three distinct game modes. Multiplayer will feature ten Specialists – six making their return after Black Ops III – with four new additions to the roster. Working either solo or in squads, players will be able to take on missions that will tie the series to the events of previous Black Ops titles. Zombies mode will feature three unique maps for the player to test their mettle. Voyage of Despair puts players on the decks of the iconic RMS Titanic, IX has players battling the undead in an Ancient Roman arena with Blood of the Dead taking place within the infamous confines of Alcatraz Penitentiary. New to the franchise is the battle royale mode Blackout. This action-packed mode will see players take on each other to be the last one – or last team – standing in various maps in the Call of Duty universe.

The Specialist Edition will include the game, 1100 CoD Points, an exclusive emblem, sticker, calling card, character gesture and Specialist outfit. The Pro Edition will feature the game, Black Ops Pass – which includes the Classified Zombie Experience and other multiplayer bonuses and characters – a CoD pop socket, art cards, specialist patches and 1100 CoD Points in a limited edition steelbook case. The Mystery Box Edition features the everything in the Pro Edition along with three Zombies lithographs, four exclusive Zombies figpins and Zombies puzzle along with a collectable Mystery Box.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from October 12*


Soul Calibur VI

Go back to where it all began in Soul Calibur VI, For this latest chapter in the fighting saga, players will step back into the 16th century as they go back to the origin of Soul Edge. Discovering untold secrets about the blade’s past – along with those who wield it – players will encounter iconic characters from the series, such as Taki, Mitsurugi, Sophitia and Ivy, as they travel the globe. Joining the series for the first time will be Azwel – who will play a pivotal role in the Libra of Souls story mode – as well as the so-called “Agent in Black” Groh, a former soldier of the Azal Organisation and finally, Geralt of Riva from The Witcher series will also be making his Soul Calibur debut.

Players who pre-order will receive the game in a metal case featuring a built-in sound box featuring four in-game voice-over excerpts. The Collector’s Edition will feature a copy of the game, the Season Pass, a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack and a limited edition figurine of Sophitia.

Soul Calibur VI will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 from October 19*


Red Dead Redemption II

A robbery gone wrong kicks starts a new story in this eagerly awaited sequel. In Red Dead Redemption II, players take on the role of Arthur Morgan, who has gone on the run with the Van der Linde gang after a heist in Blackwater goes awry. Now on the run from the authorities – and a cadre of bounty hunters – Morgan must decide where his loyalties lie as internal divisions within the gang threaten their freedom. Players will have to make each decision with care in this western adventure where reputation is everything and can have a lasting impact on your very survival.

Players who pre-order Red Dead Redemption II will receive the War Horse and Outlaw Survival Kit. The Special and Ultimate Editions feature a copy of the game with steelbook case and printed world map with the Special Edition featuring a bonus hideout, Bank Robbery missions, new outfits, gameplay boosts and three free weapons and the Ultimate Edition featuring another additional pack of outfits, mounts, more free weapons and a Survivor Camp theme alongside the Special Edition content. The Collector’s Box consists of a metal tithing box – with lock and key – and includes a treasure map, Wheeler, Rawson and Co. catalogue, pin set, playing cards, Six Shooter bandana, collectable Challenge coin, 12 cigarette cards and a double-sided puzzle. Players will be able to purchase the Collector’s Box as an individual item or as a bundle with a copy of the game.

Red Dead Redemption II will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 from October 26*


Free to Play

On Xbox this month, Gold subscribers will have four new games to download and play for free. From October 1-31* Overcooked will be available on Xbox One, followed by Victor Vran from October 16-November 15*. Over on Xbox 360, Stuntman: Ignition will be available from October 1-15*, with Hitman: Blood Money available from October 16-31*. As always, the 360 titles will also be playable on Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.

Over on PlayStation, PS Plus subscribers will have six new titles to download and play across the PlayStation family. From October 2*, Friday the 13th: The Game and Laser League will be available for PS4, with Master Reboot on PS3, The Bridge on PS4, PS3 & PS Vita, with Rocketbirds 2: Evolution and 2064: Read Only Memories available on PS4 and PS Vita. In addition, the PlayLink PS Plus bonus title Knowledge is Power will still be available to play for free.
