1812 Overture // Tchaikovsky

For those of you not motivated by the usual upbeat tracks of the twenty first century, this is a strangely invigorating classic performance that gives off an air of control and power. I can personally vouch that this orchestra performed masterpiece gets essays finished – the length of it carries through prolonged, harder tasks such as revision and the conclusion to the overture is like a congratulatory pat on the back. The changes in rhythm throughout, also providing the needed calming support to de-stress you during the exam season, as well as featuring the louder and demanding parts to smash any procrastination urges that may be forming. For those of you that have seen ‘V for Vendetta’, it’s also reminiscent of the ultimate act of rebellion that establishes justice, which really does feel good.
