Midnight City // M83

Revision, for me, takes a lot of effort and staying power. I am a typical crammer – I spend more of my time making playlists to revise to than I do revising – and a song that never fails to make those lists is Midnight City by M83. Known to the mainstream as the theme tune to E4’s Made in Chelsea, the song is one of my sources of motivation when it comes to that tense exam period. Dreamy synth-pop combined with atmospheric vocals and a gorgeous saxophone solo you wish you could hear on loop, the song is perfect when trying to get pumped about anything and everything and it has a seriously addictive quality. Throughout my A-Levels, I would listen to it so often on repeat while revising it quickly reached the top of my most played iTunes tracks; it’s just that infectious. Plus, I also got the grades for university, so thank you M83.
