I’ll Be Ok
In 2005, Mcfly released their second album. Wonderland included classical interludes and felt sadder than the previous album. Their hair was longer and straighter, and they all wore grey on the album cover. Fans wondered what had happened to the happy, slightly crazy boys we knew and loved. Who had hurt them?
They were no longer the cheeky lads that didn’t know how to cook pasta (“she doesn’t know I’m a virgin in the kitchen” – ‘Broccoli’). Having said that, the uplifting message of “tell[ing] yourself ‘I’ll be OK’” helped me with my problems at the time: “that maths homework is hard but I will be OK”.
