With their preppy dress sense, numerous references to wealth and colonialism, and fondness for African pop, it’s a surprise Vampire Weekend ever made it off the cutting-room floor. Their debut, though, saw them soar to the top of the indie pile, thanks to the bouncy shuffle of ‘A-Punk’, the jittery riffs of ‘Oxford Comma’ and the baroque belter ‘M79’. Their fourth album, and first for five years, is finally set for release this year.
