Award-winning theatre makers Swamp Motel are set to debut their new production, The Drop, in London this winter.
The immersive experience is based on London’s criminal underworld and will run from 13 November to 31 December.
Devised alongside Peter Hobday and Sadie Spencer, The Drop centres around a famous jewel bound book, known as The Great Omar, which sank alongside the Titanic in 1912.
Following previous online productions of their Isklander trilogy, Swamp Motel are returning to live entertainment. The Drop promises to be interactive and intimate, with only four audience members allowed at a time.
Swamp Motel was formed in 2017 by Ollie Jones and Clem Garritty, who commented: “We can’t wait to make our return to live entertainment with The Drop. It’s an ambitious and elaborate production that explores the rich history and tale of tragedy surrounding one of the world’s most famous texts, The Great Omar. Like all our work, audiences will be right at the centre of the story, a story we hope will leave them questioning what was real and what wasn’t long after they leave.
“This has been a long time in the making for us so we’re particularly excited to premiere it in our home city of London this autumn as the culture scene bounces back to life.”
A limited number of tickets are on sale now.
