Strictly Come Dancing 2020 star HRVY, real name Harvey Cantwell, has confirmed he has got the all-clear – just in time for the launch show next weekend. HRVY tested positive for coronavirus last week and had been forced to self-isolate amidst fears of an outbreak on the beloved show.

He made the announcement on Twitter today saying: “He’s free from Covid, he’s a free elf… thank you for all the kind messages, I tested negative today so I’m back, love you guys and see you all soon”.

The 21-year-old musician said he had shown no symptoms of the virus when he tested positive. He can now be safely paired with one of the Strictly professionals on next weekend’s launch show.

The show has also introduced new social distancing guidelines, including limiting the number of celebrities taking part and a smaller studio audience who will have to maintain social distancing. According to the RadioTimes.com, Strictly 2020 contestants who test positive for Covid-19 will be eliminated instantly from the show.

“Unfortunately if you receive a positive test, that means you wouldn’t be able to continue in the competition. Obviously with government guidelines, if you receive a positive test you have to isolate for two weeks and that would unfortunately rule them out of the show”, said executive producer Sarah James.
