It’s getting chillier, thus the music we listen to is changing, and changing fast. Who wants to listen to summery indie-pop bands when it’s not t-shirt weather anymore?!

A perfect soundtrack to the changing of the seasons is Laura Marling’s Rambling Man, taken from her 2010 album “I Speak Because I Can”. In this particular track, Marling’s gorgeously raw vocals align perfectly with the acoustic guitar, which then crescendos into a harmonious and uplifting ballad. The whole album goes hand in hand with those cold and dark evenings; although, it is melancholic at times, which is why Rambling Man is such a fitting song. Amidst the chill, Marling’s voice will be your warmth.

You may hear slight Mumford-and-Sons-vibes in the song; if so, you are exactly correct, as they play the role of Marling’s band in the track, and album for that matter. However, this is no Little Lion ManRambling Man‘s eloquently written lyrics and the sheer optimism of the melody makes it incomparable to the likes of Mumford. Rambling Man will satisfy you perfectly if you are hopelessly hunting for a song to be your perfect autumnal/wintry transition, and the full album will complete your seasonal record search.
