Manchester-based Korsairs are a young band comprising two brothers and two sisters whose natural guitar sound is vaguely reminiscent of Little Man Tate or Mumm-ra. Being new to the music world, the pairs of siblings merit more publicity than they currently have; instrumentally, their music shows real integrity using rudimentary guitar and drums. “Out With The Old” from their eponymous EP is typical of their sound.

Starting with optimism, the introduction creates a comforting sense of relaxation for the listener before lead singer and songwriter Joe Prior delivers half-spoken, half-sung lyrics that take the listener through his thoughts. Although simple, the lyrics depict the singer accepting past events and the listener sees his realisation when the chorus changes to “I’ve moved on and so have you”, all of which is made to feel incredibly genuine with Prior’s Mancunian accent oozing from each word.
Such a sound promises more and I highly recommend following Korsairs on Twitter for their latest updates.
