After emerging last year with his debut EP 1992, one-man wonder Ben Khan is back to give us our next fix of emotionally-charged electronica. Following his notable SoundCloud success, the producer/singer has released ‘Zenith’ from his forthcoming four-track EP, 1000.

Characteristic of Khan’s previous material, sultry R&B melodies and icy beats infuse the track with a chilled yet sensual vibe. Upon first listen, the distinct and harsh electric guitar teamed with such a smooth soulful vocal creates a real Jai Paul feel to the track. The serene yet smouldering tone rings true with lyrics such as “Safe from stress” and “I won’t incinerate your heart”, making it hard to believe such a masterpiece was brought to life in the bedroom of a 22 year-old.

If our Song of the Week is anything to go by, we can’t wait for what Ben Khan has yet to offer.

1000 is out 11th May on Khan’s own label, Blessed Vice.
