Sunglasses-clad LA natives Bad Suns practically ooze a sort of slightly self-conscious coolness which made them the perfect support act for The 1975 on their American tour last summer. Fresh off of this tour, the band released their debut album Language & Perspective, which is full of catchy hooks and what they themselves describe as “stadium-ready anthems”.
‘Salt’ is one of the stand-out tracks of the album; although the tight-drums-and-catchy-hook blueprint has become a little formulaic by the time you reach this, the 7th track on the album, that formula does exactly what it’s supposed to. It makes you want to move. The lyrics do move away from the sweeter style of earlier tracks, as frontman and vocalist Christo Bowman sings “these memories are nothing to me / just salt”. Bowman’s ethereal vocals laid over the riffs give them a more out of the ordinary, almost eerie sound.

Following the successful release of their debut and their first headlining US tour, Bad Suns are definitely ones to keep an eye on in 2015.
