After the release of their hit single ‘You’re the One for Me’, the duo of Jon Sandler and Luke Moellman that make up the indie pop band Great Good Fine Ok have been on a steady rise. Originating from Brooklyn, New York, the bands infectious sounds have been compared to those of iconic indie pop and alternative bands such as M83, Phoenix, Passion Pit, MGMT, Daft Punk, and even Foster the People. After a play through of their most recent EP ‘Body Diamond’, it’s safe to say that the duo draws inspiration from the current 80’s trend that’s been resurfacing, with their song ‘By My Side’ being a prime example.
‘By My Side’ is an anthemic blend of dreamy pop sounds, electro grooves, and falsetto vocals with indie undertones. The contagious energy the pair brings to each song is one of the many reasons on why Neon Gold Records has recently been keeping a watchful eye on them. Neon Gold Records is a New York City based record label responsible for discovering and revealing artists such as Ellie Goulding, Icona Pop, and Gotye so it’s no surprise that Great Good Fine Ok may soon be joining the impressive list. If summer is on your mind then the techno synths and pulsating beats of ‘By My Side’ will have you dancing in no time, proving itself to be just as catchy as any of their other previous releases.
