The critically acclaimed dark comedy Breeders starring Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard is drawing to a close with the release of its fourth and final season, Sky has announced.

The popular series follows Freeman and Haggard as husband and wife Paul and Ally Worsley who are struggling to navigate the many aspects of modern parenting to their now teenage children Luke and Ally. Since debuting on Sky and FX back in 2020, the show’s unflinchingly funny account of parenthood resonated with a lot of viewers and has since amassed a firm following.

Picking up five years after the dramatic events of season three’s cliffhanging finale—where the future of Paul and Ally’s marriage hung in the balance—the ten-episode final season is likely to feature some big changes. One of which is hinted at in the season four poster recently revealed by Sky—a bombshell sure to keep this lovable family on their toes.

Sky also released a statement announcing the final season and hinted at the plot: “The final ten episodes of the Sky Original deliver a dramatic conclusion to the Worsley family story of parenthood. Series four of Breeders brings the biggest parenting challenge that Paul and Ally have ever faced.”

Season four of Breeders will have a varied release across the US and UK. Premiering on FX on 31st July in the US, British fans will have to wait a little longer for the anticipated release on Sky in October, with the exact date to be confirmed. If seasons one to three are anything to go by, the Worsley family’s final adventure will definitely be worth the wait.

The fourth and final series of Breeders will debut on FX on 31st July and Sky Comedy in October. You can watch the first three seasons on Sky and NOW TV.
