Who are the The Jacques? Well, they’re a four piece up-and-coming band based around Bristol who made their debut in London, Hyde Park 2014 – playing on the same stage as The Libertines.

Taken from their EP Pretty DJ, ‘Weekends’ is the type of song that’d be amazing to hear live. It opens with a catchy groove from the bass guitar which is then joined by the rest of the band. The guitar and drums play a lively melody whilst Fin Jacque sings in a Doherty-esque drawl “everyone’s got polaroids” over the top of an infectious melody. The song is edgy, euphoric and well crafted – it’s easy to see how talented these guys are from this song alone.
‘Weekends’ is released today alongside a new track ‘Baby Turn The Light Out’.
