Single Review: Drive // Alexander

‘Drive’ is the new single from up-and-coming British indie-pop quartet Alexander. A smooth, mellow alt-pop track with summery vibes, it echoes artists like Swim Deep and 5 Seconds of Summer. It’s a generally good, all-round pop song; the kind of track that you’d sing along to on car journeys to the beach in your best friend’s battered VW Beetle.

Featuring some smooth keyboard, bass and drum layering, and dreamy young vocals, ‘Drive’ will propel the band into the mainstream alt-pop market. Not too musically ambitious, nothing the indie-pop world hasn’t seen already, but nonetheless a solid track that will earn Alexander a fair few teenage fans.
