12. I Come Crashing
After eBay removed her store for violating their terms, Sophia decides to go solo, building her own website from scratch and stock-piling pieces for the big launch. Newly reconciled with best friend Annie, there is only one small problem: how the hell do you build a website? As the launch date gets closer and closer, eventually Sophia must admit that she needs to take on outside help, bringing in a Ivy League grad to design the Nasty Gal site.
With Sophia pre-occupied with her imminent deadline, her and Shane grow increasingly distant from one another. Sophia visits him at work one day with the intention of re-kindling their spark, but is greeted with a nasty surprise. She keeps the news that Shane is cheating on her to herself, immersing herself in the launch, even though she can’t stop playing the scene over and over in her mind.
Verdict: No one deserves to be cheated on, regardless of how flawed a person they may be, and so this is a particularly heart-wrenching episode to watch. Sophia is right on the precipice of huge success, and Shane is a huge lead balloon dragging her down.
