Rockstar Games have released the much anticipated first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI early following a leak of the video.

The first trailer, which is around 90 seconds long, was scheduled to debut on December 5 at 9am ET/6am PT/2pm GMT. However, an account on X (formerly Twitter) named ‘GTA6trailerleak’ claimed to have the trailer in full. The account was quickly banned from the platform, but the video remained in circulation.

This led Rockstar to release the trailer earlier than planned, announcing the release on their own social media.

The trailer confirmed the long-standing theories that GTA VI would see the series’ first female protagonist, identified in the trailer as Lucia, and that it would be set in Vice City. There was also a strong indication that social media would be a feature in the game, with several clips of in-game TikToks and livestreams.

The clip ends with the game’s logo and confirmation that the game is currently scheduled to be released in 2025, although no other release information was revealed.
