For those of you out there who are avid Radiohead fans, it’s certainly a magical time to find out that the band have been seen together in the studio. By the time that they actually release new music, most lovers of the formerly named ‘On a Friday’ will be checking up regularly on the band’s progress via online news.
Radiohead’s unconventional methods of releasing their music never fail to draw attention – incredibly, ‘In Rainbows’ was released with the option to pay however much you liked for it (I know, how could an album so good be released for so little?). This time, however, they decided that completely eradicating their presence on the internet was a great way to play with people’s brains.
But the time is finally here. Radiohead’s latest single ‘Burn The Witch’ has been released on popular streaming sites such as Spotify and Apple Music after initially being published on YouTube yesterday, along with an interesting stop-motion video. To those of you who may be thinking, “wait, wasn’t Thom Yorke that guy who basically denounced Spotify as a pile of ****”. Yep, that’s him.
We can only guess that this is a tease from their ninth baby – hopefully another phenomenal album. But we can only wait and see what surprises are to follow.
