Queen’s Birthday Honours List Includes Jonathan Price and Arlene Phillips

The Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021 have now been announced, and the list includes several renowned names from the stage and screen.

The actor Jonathan Price is to receive a knighthood. He is known for his work on Game of Thrones, and will be taking on the role of Prince Philip in seasons five and six of Netflix’s The Crown

Choreographer and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips has been awarded a damehood. 

Former artistic director of Dance Umbrella Emma Gladstone and dance consultant Theresa Beattie have been recognised by Her Majesty, both with OBEs.

The actress and playwright Lolita Chakrabarti, whose debut play Red Velvet sold out two runs in London, has also been named for an OBE. With her are fellow playwright and poet Lemn Sissay, the founder of Assembly Festival William Burdett-Coutts, and actress Roma Downey.

Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, brother of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, has also been made OBE.

The Chair of Battersea Arts Centre David Bryan, has been awarded a CBE in the Birthday Honours. Alongside him is writer Philippa Gregory, Arts, Heritage and Tourism director at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Emma Squire, singer Lulu, and actor Ram John Holder, who was featured in Holby City and Desmond’s.

MBEs have been awarded to the Jane Eyre actress Ruth Wilson, and to dance school founder Samantha Moore and opera singer Allan Clayton.
