Persona publisher Atlus outlined a set of streaming guidelines for the new Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden ports, which fans consider to be much less restrictive than previous attempts.

For streamers and content creators looking to share their journey into Tartarus in Persona 3 or reach out to the truth of Persona 4 should be aware of a few things before doing so. If streaming a part of the game containing spoilers, such as the culprit behind the murders in Persona 4, Atlus require a warning of some kind put up. This could be onscreen in the stream overlay screen or in the title of a video. This is to ensure new players to the series do not have their enjoyment of the game spoiled. Copyright should also be shown with ‘©Atlus ©Sega’ when streaming or uploading a video for either game.

Historically, Atlus has been notorious for enforcing strict streaming guidelines and restrictions on what can and cannot be shown from their games on the internet. Most recently, the immensely popular Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal both had video recordings and live streams of the games prohibited. This included blocking any built-in console gameplay recording features.

Last year Atlus announced that the Persona series would be brought to modern consoles. This includes some of the popular entries such as Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal being made available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, Windows, Steam and Nintendo Switch. Royal was released back in October 2022, whilst Portable & Golden will be released on 19 January 2023. Notably, this is the first rerelease of Persona 3 Portable since it debuted as an exclusive on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2009.

The new streaming guidelines will apply following the global launch of both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on 19 January 2023.
