Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, 72 , recently received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Black Sabbath frontman, who has battled with his fair share of health problems in recent years, said in an interview with SiriusXM: “if I don’t get the shot and I get the virus, there’s a good chance I ain’t going to be here.”
As well as his fairly recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease, Osbourne suffers from the lung condition emphysema which puts him at a heightened risk of death should he contract the virus.
Discussing the vaccine on Loose Women Osbourne laughed:”It felt like I was being stabbed… My arm was sore yesterday, but I’m glad I got it, you know?”
“As soon as I got it, I felt relieved,” he added.
When he was asked about how his health generally was at the moment, Osbourne responded that he’d been having issues that dated all the way back to an accident he had nearly 20 years ago on top of his other health problems he’s been open about.
The surgery I had knocked the crap out of me. But I broke my neck in a quad bike accident [in 2003] and when that healed it squeezed my spinal column, so I was getting all kinds of weird things happening to me. I’d be on stage and I’d suddenly get a sharp shock down one side of my body.“

Osbourne, along with his wife Sharon, also appeared on Loose Women to talk about receiving the vaccine and Sharon’s own battle with COVID. Sharon contracted the virus before Christmas and had to be isolated in hospital in order to protect him from catching the virus himself.
Osbourne is still hard at work writing the follow-up to his 2020 comeback album Ordinary Man, which was produced by Andrew Watt and Louis Bell and featured guest performances from Post Malone and Sir Elton John.
His next album will reportedly be produced by Watt again and include performances from members of the Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica. He has also rescheduled his No More Tours 2 European Tour, which has been postponed multiple times due to Osbourne’s health and the effects of COVID-19, to 2022.
