Gabrielle MacPherson’s new play Outside is set to premiere with Minty Fresh Productions later this month.

The production company announced the world premiere yesterday. The new production will be written and performed by Gabrielle MacPherson, and directed by Karis Crimson.

MacPherson is a renowned theatre performer and writer, as well as a co-founder of Degenerate Fox Theatre. She has performed in numerous shows including The Dirty Thirty, What’s in the Box, and The Beasts.

MacPherson plays Willa, a 30-year-old woman confined to her bedroom the entirety of her life, controlled by fears of the outside world.

“I am so excited about Outside’s premiere at The Space. In such a difficult and uncertain time for everyone, the team and I feel so fortunate to tell Willa’s story,” MacPherson said in a statement, “I worked on Outside throughout 2020, a year where none of us could go out, so it’s really wonderful that in 2021 Willa and I get to venture outside our homes and into yours – from a safe distance, of course.”

Crimson’s previous theatre credits include Bette and Joan, Cry, Blueberry, and The Resistance Collection.

Outside will be live streamed from The Space, London, between 18 and 20 February 2021, and last week managed to exceed its Kickstarter campaign target of £3500. A BSL interpreter will also be on hand to interpret the performance.
