“All your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade.” – ‘Talk Tonight’
‘Talk Tonight’ is among the best of Noel Gallagher’s work. This B-side, like so many of Oasis’, is clearly above this status of subordinate songs – reserved only for song writing slip-ups and recycled riffs – making The Masterplan album all the more magnificent. The opening line of the second verse is admirable in the hope it emits. The idea that dreams can be made from something as innocent and frivolous as strawberry lemonade is refreshing (no pun intended), and the concealed desperation here, when joined with this flimsy innocence, it is quite comforting. It may not make much sense objectively, but it can still mean a lot to at least one listener.
