All Things Considered Theatre’s production Sleepover will visit Gosforth Civic Theatre as part of its 2022 tour.
Described as “an immersive celebration of friendship, sisterhood and the teenagers we used to be”, the show takes place in 1990 at 15-year-old Kelly’s sleepover. Audience members are invited to leave their adult responsibilities behind and reconnect with their teenage selves.
The audience is seated on beds, although single seats are available for audience members who may require them.
It is written and directed by Emma Bramley and Sarah Hogarth. Stephen Hull is the sound designer, and Rhianna Swyer is the assistant producer.
Following the performance at Gosforth Civic Theatre, the show will then visit Pyramid Arts Centre in Warrington on 9 April and Rotherham Civic Theatre on 1 May. Throughout March, the show visited Leeds, Halifax, Trafford and Wigan.
All Things Considered create immersive and participatory theatre that encourages honest conversations and prompts audience members to be part of making change. Their other projects include 8 Hours There and Back, a verbatim show that shares stories from children with a parent in prison, and Unsolicited, a cabaret show aimed at men that explores sexual assault.
Performances of Sleepover at Gosforth Civic Theatre will be held at 6pm and 8:30pm on 7 April. Tickets can be purchased online.
