Clockwork Princess // Cassandra Claire

Clockwork-PrincessThe Epilogue of this book tore my heart into tiny pieces and left them lying on the ground, and yet it is my favourite book from The Infernal Devices trilogy; I don’t know whether that says more about the book or me. Cassandra Claire creates a fantasy world filled with interesting, varied and loveable characters whom I became very attached to. But one sarcastic boy stood out, Will Herondale.

My fondest memory of this book, strangely, is from said heartbreaking epilogue (if you have read it you understand my pain). It was around 2:00 am and I had only a few pages left of this fantastic series. My journey with the Victorian England Shadowhunters was coming to an end. I believed I was safe reading these final pages, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I sobbed and found myself so distraught I ran into my Mum’s room for solitude. Needless to say she wasn’t amused. I had rarely felt such an emotional impact before from reading a book; I had cried, but never like this, and all because of a beautifully bittersweet ending. The entire story was compelling from start to finish and it was one of the only young adult book series I have read more than once.
