It has been revealed that Minecraft Dungeons will be available as a free trial to Nintendo Switch Online members from 18 August.

Lasting for a week, until the end of 24 August, this comes as part of Nintendo’s ‘Game Trial’ scheme which allows people with Nintendo Switch Online memberships to try out a selected game for a week. Unlike with demos, gamers who take advantage of this offer can beat the whole game without loosening their purse strings – providing that they can beat it within a week, of course. Other titles that have previously been included in this limited-time event include Inner Sloth’s revolutionary party game Among Us and Two Point Studios’ business simulation game Two Point Hospital.

This free trial was first made available to players in Japan, however, this recently ended. Nintendo of Europe then disclosed over Twitter that they would be running this offer, with their American counterpart following suit shortly afterwards.

First releasing in May last year, Mojang Studios’ latest spin-off to their popular sandbox game fuses Minecraft with features of classic dungeon crawlers, creating a unique experience; players are taken on an exciting journey through several of Minecraft’s biomes (including the Nether) to save the innocent villagers from the maleficent Arch-Illager. As if this wasn’t enough already, the game has a host of DLC for Minecraft fans to get their teeth stuck into, however, these will not be included in the free trial offer.

Starting on 18 August, this free sample is not to be missed. If you need more information on Minecraft Dungeons, this can be found here.
