Microsoft has officially announced that Xbox Remote Play will be expanded to PC players via an update to the Xbox App. This update also includes the expansion of Microsoft’s cloud gaming service to the PC, which can be accessed in 22 different countries.

The update also includes other features. Microsoft has added information on controller and network status, Game bar integration, social features and the ability to invite others to join the player in a game. Games can now be streamed at 1080p and up to 60fps, meaning that the games will be of a higher quality. Other stability improvements have been added. However, Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in beta mode, so players may experience issues.

Xbox Remote Play allows players to play online with games from a wide library, including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and related generations, and select Xbox 360 and Xbox original games, marking the appearance of a highly requested feature. Remote Play is also making its debut on the Xbox Series X/S through this update.

To access remote and cloud gaming, players will need to download the Xbox App and connect a compatible controller. The app can be found through the Xbox website, or through the Windows App store. Games can be streamed on Windows 10, Apple and Android phones.

Remote Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming requires a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which costs £10.99 a month.
