The Night Agent was easily one of the most successful and memorable TV releases of 2023. With this in mind, it is no surprise there is such a buzz about its second season. And now, there is a new casting announcement, with British-American actor Michael Malarkey signing on to join the cast for the newest season.
Fans of The Vampire Diaries will know him best for his role as Enzo St. John whom he played from 2013 to 2017. He’s also starred in Big Sky, Westworld and Law and Order: Organised Crime.
With a fan base from popular shows already, it gives fans one more thing to be excited about for its next season. There have been no leaks or rumours about the premise yet, but it is confirmed that Gabriel Basso who plays the title role of Peter Sutherland is set to return to reprise his character, as well as Luciane Buchanan who starred alongside Basso as Rose Larkin.
The Night Agent launched on Netflix last March, and within its first four days it became the third most viewed debuting series on the streaming service. It was in Netflix’s UK top ten for weeks, earning positive reviews and prompting many conversations on social media about the originality of the series.
The show’s premise centres around FBI agent Peter Sutherland whose job is to monitor emergency lines in the basement of the White House. The phone never rings until one night when he answers a call that plunges him right into the middle of a conspiracy involving a mole at the White House.
The Night Agent currently doesn’t have a release date, but we can predict that when it does finally drop onto Netflix, it will be a huge hit. However, whilst you wait, you can stream the first season of The Night Agent on Netflix now.
