Playdew has officially announced that the beloved Lost Twins II game will be launching on Xbox consoles. With this confirmation comes a trailer that offers a glimpse into the immersive world awaiting players.

Lost Twins II was initially released in 2023 on PC and MAC through Steam. The game was developed on the Unity game engine by Playdew, a Pakistani Independent game studio that “strives to make games that challenge, entertain, and inspire players” and shows that great games can come from anywhere.

The indie puzzle game follows Abi and Ben on their journey as they move across platforms, engage in challenging puzzles, swap tiles to create paths and overcome obstacles to reunite and find their way back home across a whimsical polygonal detailed environment. The game also has dual narrative features which means the Lost Twins II story will have two perspectives.

According to Playdew, Lost Twins II features “lush and interactive environments filled with hidden secrets and surprises at every turn, beautifully designed worlds filled with charm and magic.” It also features handcrafted visuals and other secrets players can discover while playing.

Inspired by the Japanese animator, filmmaker, and one of the founders of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, Lost Twins II‘s art style merges soft, painterly backgrounds with simplified, memorable characters. This is similar to Studio Ghibli’s internationally successful animated films like Spirited Away (2001) and Princess Mononoke (1997).

Lost Twins II has won many awards, including the People’s Choice Awards. The game was featured at several festivals, including the ChinaJoy X Game Connection 2023, the OTK Games EXPO, and many others.

Lost Twins II is currently available to wishlist on the Xbox website and the game is set to be released later this year.
