Waterloo Sunset // The Kinks

The earliest memories of music I have are thanks to my dad. I can remember being tiny enough to sit, curled up in his acoustic guitar case, and I would watch and listen contentedly whilst he played countless renditions of The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones hits. A song that I took a particular shine to and that I would constantly request he play was a song called ‘Waterloo Sunset’ by The Kinks. When I was slightly older, my dad gave me his The Kinks Greatest Hits cassette tape which I loved and I soon learned all the songs, from ‘Lola’, to ‘Sunny Afternoon’ to ‘Dedicated Follower of Fashion’. It was coming from a musical family and being introduced to bands such as The Kinks and The Beatles at an early age which sparked my love and interest in music.
