Anybody that knows me will know how much I adore Lana Del Rey. I discovered her around 2010/2011 (I think) and fell in love with her sound and her creative vision. The cinematic visuals that feature in her vintage-inspired video clips (‘Video Games’, ‘Carmen’) were things that I found so interesting. I’ve always loved the ‘Hollywood glamour’ style that I feel Lana completely embodies, sonically and visually.
Lana and her music had a huge impact on a part of my life. At the time of discovering her music and through the years that followed, I went through a few difficult times and was experiencing the general motions of growing up and becoming a teenager. I’ve always turned to music for an ‘escape’ and Lana’s music definitely felt like exactly that. ‘Blue Jeans’ is a track that I feel is some of Lana’s best work and is one of my favourite tracks by her, as well as being very significant in my life.
