When I Come Around // Green Day

By this point, I was stepping away from what my family were listening to and starting discovering other artists and bands for myself. I had heard a few Green Day tracks thanks to my dad, but it wasn’t until I was at school – when I started mixing with new people – that I really got into them. ‘When I Come Around’ was one of the first tracks I heard by the band and I remember loving the raw vocals and falling in love with the distinct sound of Billie Joe Armstrong’s voice. Upon hearing Green Day, I then discovered other rock bands such as: Blink-182, Nirvana and Foo Fighters. I think a lot of people thought my love of ‘rock’ was just a phase, but still to this day I’m loving the genre and its alternative sub-genres that include bands like: Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore and Muse.
