My life has always been influenced heavily by music. I grew up in a big family which meant I heard a lot of different musical styles and was exposed to a long list of genres. Picking five tracks that document my life so far wasn’t an easy task – after all, as a general lover of music I’ve always been open to hearing anything, therefore I can proudly say that I’ve built up a pretty eclectic taste over my short eighteen years of existence.

Lose Yourself // Eminem

I’ve always had a great relationship with my older brother and I’ve always looked up to him and been influenced by the things that he likes. We both grew up listening to old school hip-hop from the greats: N.W.A, D12, Tupac and an artist who we both watched breakout was Eminem. I remember car journeys driving up to see family with my dad and my brother listening to Eminem’s records and being in awe of his genius lyrically and musically, despite not really understanding what a lot of what we was saying really meant at the time. ‘Lose Yourself’ is one of the first tracks I heard by him and every time I hear the song it brings back good memories.
