I’ve always been a sucker for albums (thus writing this article has been so difficult). And, right now, there is no album I am obsessed (in the literal sense) with more than Father John Misty’s second LP I Love You, Honeybear.

The prize single, ‘Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)’ sums this sordid, twisted, album perfectly. It’s a love song at face value but actually a ‘real’ love song. It’s not stars and the sky, roses and birds singing but “I wanna take you in the kitchen / Lift up your wedding dress someone was probably murdered in”.

And this is where I find myself now. My life in music is still as exciting as ever. I thought white hipster singer-songwriters only had one output until Father John Misty came around and that is something so exciting.

I’m still living. I’m still learning.
