Assassin’s Creed

assassin's creed

This is my latest – and most obvious – gaming obsession. A fusion of action and mystery all set against the backdrop of history in some beautiful locations around the world. Starting with Altair Ibn-La’Ahad in the Third Crusade right up to Shay Cormac in Colonial America, I’ve loved this series from beginning to end. For me, right now, it is the end as Unity and the upcoming Syndicate will only be on next-gen consoles.

On a personal level, I almost didn’t progress past Revelations. This was because of the power of Ezio Auditore – the Renaissance era Italian protagonist of the series since Assassin’s Creed II. He is by far my favourite of all the ones I’ve played. Following his journey from birth to death forged a connection I’ve never had before. Usually when playing through a series, I finish one and move on but this time was different, I simply didn’t want to. I can’t really explain why but I dragged out finishing Revelations for the longest time. But I obviously did and then learned that I hated Haytham Kenway, was indifferent about Connor, wanted to be friends with Edward Kenway and that I kind of liked Shay Cormac (even though he was technically a villain)

I still want to see what Arno and Aveline are like and it’s so unfair that I won’t get to play as Evie Frye – the British female assassin I’ve been waiting for.
