The Day After Tomorrow


We must have watched this about ten times over in Geography at school (thanks, supply teachers!), and although I’ve seen this film wayyy too many times, it’s the memories it evokes that has led to my including it on this list. Having just watched The Day After Tomorrow, my brother and I ran around New York public library acting the film out when we visited the city with my Dad, aged 8 and 10 respectively. It was truly magical – especially when it started snowing and we found ourselves in a race against time to get to the airport and back home to England. A film which is a pertinent reminder of the effect we’re having on our planet sticks out in my mind as one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on – along with Night At The Museum, because I could have sworn I saw that dinosaur skeleton move…
