1984 // George Orwell

What a book this is. It’s easily one of the best books I’ve ever read, being surprisingly accurate in describing some elements of modern society. But aside from that, 1984 is a stunning story. In using a curious everyman as the focal point of his story, Orwell writes the character of Winston Smith as one most of us can relate to, thus making the book seem a lot more personal. This sometimes extends to feeling like the events are playing out in front of you. The original dystopia, 1984 is definitely a book that everybody should read before they die.
