Hailing from Birmingham, Sky Children are a brand new four-piece, founded within the past year, already set to make waves in the Neo-Psychedelic scene. With sounds reminiscent of the likes of Tame Impala or Pond, their recently released demo ‘Images’ incorporates dreamy melodies and nostalgic guitar riffs, with a powerful and catchy chorus. For such a newly formed band, with members as young as 16, ‘Images’ presents a mature, well-developed sound with clear direction, intelligent lyrics and blatant musical talent. This not only gives the demo an air of a much older band, but also sets the music of Sky Children at such a high standard only good things could possibly follow. The sheer potential of ‘Images’ alone identifies the band undeniably as ones to watch, and I pray that their next releases will follow such a promising trend.
