Name: Astroid Boys
Hometown: Cardiff, Wales
Listen to: Posted, Rinsa
Hailing from Cardiff’s CF10 area, Astroid Boys aren’t quite what you’d expect at first. Having grown up fuelled on punk co-frontman Traxx wanted to blend his teenage discovery of Grime. The results? A blistering sound reminiscent of Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory.
Now four years after their original inception the Welsh collective haven’t left their DIY roots behind. Self-producing their tracks, videos, merch, even going as far as creating their own documentary Straight Outta CF10.
Having mastered the act of mixing Grime and Rock it’s no wonder Astroid Boys have been called on to support the likes of Thrash Talk, Deez Nuts as well as Public Enemy, Skepta and Stormzy.
With this, it’s no surprise the collective have built up an adoring following. Inviting us to catch their last tour of the year in full swing, Astroid Boys have proved they certainly can bring a hell of a show. Packing out West-London’s Borderline just last week, filled with stage invasions, crowdsurfing and some great music we can’t wait to see what the Cardiff collective have in stock for 2017.
