The cast list has been revealed for the new touring production of Heathers the Musical.
The show will start its latest tour on 28 July with a three-week run at Leeds Grand Theatre. It will then begin touring at venues throughout the UK, including stops in Manchester, Cardiff, and Edinburgh.
The ’80s cult movie, originally starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, was adapted for the stage by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy. The story follows Veronica, who tries to become part of the infamous and elitist clique at her school, the Heathers.
The first UK run of the show, starring Carrie Hope Fletcher, took place at The Other Palace in 2018 before transferring to the West End. Heathers went on to win the WhatsOnStage award for best new musical the following year.
The tour line-up includes Rebecca Wickes as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as JD, and Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler. They are joined in the cast by Merryl Anash, Lizzy Parker, and Mhairi Angus, among others.
Choreography and associate direction is by Thriller Live‘s Gary Lloyd, with design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, and sound by Dan Samson.
The new tour coincides with Heathers‘ return to the West End, beginning at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 June for 12 weeks. The dates coincides with the intended date from which social distancing will no longer be necessary in theatres.
Tickets for Heathers the Musical are available to buy now.
