The hit West End production of Heathers the Musical will be filmed.
Heathers is a musical adaptation of the film of the same name. Directed by Andy Fickman, it has choreography by Gary Lloyd. The book, music and lyrics are by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe. Set designs are by David Shields, and lighting and sound by Ben Cracknell and Dan Samson.
Filming is set to take place from 3-19 May, and the show has been taken off sale for the public during the two week filming period. A ballot will be held for tickets, with further details of this still to be announced.
The cast and release date of the filmed version is also yet to be confirmed.
The musical is the latest in a series of musicals announcing filmed performances. Others include The Prince of Egypt and Waitress.
Heathers‘ director Andy Fickman said: “Heathers has captured the hearts and imagination of so many people here in the UK since it was first produced here in 2018. This marks an exciting next step in the show’s journey.”
Heathers is currently running at The Other Palace. Regular performances will resume after filming is completed on 20 May. The show is set to run until 4 September 2022.
Tickets for the remaining performances of Heathers can be bought here.
