As someone we all hoped would be in the Little Mermaid live-action remake, Harry Styles has delivered by turning himself into a squid in his new music video.

The opening track on Harry House, ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’, is the new single off the singer’s chart-topping third solo album and the music video has certainly caused a stir.

The video begins with a group of fishermen finding a bearded Styles washed ashore with his legs replaced with squid tentacles. The fishermen then deliver Styles to a sushi restaurant (of course), where he nervously watches other seafood meet their end and is aware that he is going to be next. However, he manages to find a way out of it by using his voice, which the public all love and adore, to become a performer at the restaurant.

Unfortunately, Styles meets the same end as every other seafood that enters the restaurant when his voice begins to break. The video seems to be a cultural reference to the modern music industry and how singers are only valuable when they are at their best.

The video is the third Styles has released from his album, following ‘Late Night Talking’ and ‘As It Was.’

Styles is currently in the midst of a residency in Los Angeles, California at the Kia Forum as part of his 2022 North American ‘Love on Tour.
