Harry Styles has released his latest music video for the track ‘Daylight’, the fifth track from his third studio album, Harry’s House.

The visualiser, released on July 19th, takes this slice of sun-soaked pop perfection to the next level, with the singer sporting various eccentric outfits in a circus setting.

The video starts with Styles in a black satin outfit with oversized pink bows. However, the best look comes in the form of a yellow feathery jumpsuit. The outfit, adorned with chains and crystals, is worn when the popstar is shot from a cannon and then rides a unicycle.

The costume, designed by Ed Marler, caused fans to go into a frenzy last year when images of him filming the video were leaked, with many speculating about the purpose of the quirky outfit.

Harry’s skeletal-inspired suit, which he wears atop a horse at the end of the video, was designed by Steve O Smith and is arguably a tamer look for the singer, who has become notorious for his unique style over the years.

The video is gloriously flamboyant and flashy and is a feast for the senses. The camerawork and cinematography are sublime, with highlights including the shots of the trapeze artists. The creative team, made up of Ukrainians, deserves high praise.

Director Tanu Muino, who also worked with Styles on the music video for hit single ‘As It Was’ and has also collaborated with big names such as Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, and Sam Smith, expertly places the singer into a more unusual setting, and effectively uses colour and costume to make the video pleasing to watch.

The song, which lyrically centres on yearning and long-distance love, shows Styles dressed as a yellow bird, whereas the lyrics state “if I was a bluebird / I would fly to you”. It’s clear that something is holding the singer back, with him unable to be with his lover.

The singer has recently concluded his 2-year tour in the RCF arena in Italy and is expected to be taking some well-deserved time off before returning to the spotlight.
