Last year’s Handmade Festival saw the likes of Bo Ningen, TOY and Slaves among others take over and cause havoc at Leicester’s O2 Academy. It was a heavy line up which had some great performances, including the crowd favourite God Damn.

At the end of this month, Handmade will be back again for three days with a completely new line up, showcasing the greatest talent in Leicester, along with some new acts to keep your eye on. Here is The Indiependent’s eight acts to see at Handmade Festival.

Crosa Rosa

Crosa Rosa cont

Describing their live performances as ‘a whole lot of noise’ Nottingham’s Crosa Rosa play some of the most melodic garage rock going at the minute. They are a stripped down trio, with a very guitar driven sound.

Early releases debuted the band’s talent for writing catchy riffs, but still maintaining a very old fashioned dynamic. Their live shows are touted for being energetic, which can only compliment the band and their stomping drums. Crosa Rosa draw on some heavy Nirvana influences, but fortunately, don’t lend themselves to drowning in the sea of endless Nirvana cover bands.

Crosa Rosa will be joining Leicester locals Clubs on the BBC Introducing stage on the Saturday.
