Last year’s Handmade Festival saw the likes of Bo Ningen, TOY and Slaves among others take over and cause havoc at Leicester’s O2 Academy. It was a heavy line up which had some great performances, including the crowd favourite God Damn.
At the end of this month, Handmade will be back again for three days with a completely new line up, showcasing the greatest talent in Leicester, along with some new acts to keep your eye on. Here is The Indiependent’s eight acts to see at Handmade Festival.
Pretty Vicious
This Welsh band are keen on making noise and are led by thunderous vocals from singer Brad Griffiths, who has some stellar power behind him. In fact, Pretty Vicious have already opened for Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr and the Manic Street Preachers in their short two years as a band.
Fusing their blend of downright heavy rock and punk, Pretty Vicious capture teenage angst in the form of music. Playing Glastonbury last year was a nice warm up for an exciting future, they released the absolutely huge ‘Are You Ready For Me’ in December, which had fans purring.
Last year’s Handmade saw God Damn cause a storm on the main stage and playing host to crazy mosh pits. This year’s headliners of the Future Perfect stage on Friday, Pretty Vicious, might just top that.
