Last year’s Handmade Festival saw the likes of Bo Ningen, TOY and Slaves among others take over and cause havoc at Leicester’s O2 Academy. It was a heavy line up which had some great performances, including the crowd favourite God Damn.
At the end of this month, Handmade will be back again for three days with a completely new line up, showcasing the greatest talent in Leicester, along with some new acts to keep your eye on. Here is The Indiependent’s eight acts to see at Handmade Festival.
Clubs
Perhaps one of the greatest, if not best, bands in Leicester at the minute are young indie rockers Clubs. They burst onto the music scene several years ago, playing infectious guitar music exceeding that expected of their age group.
Things have since gone quieter for Clubs, they released their last EP in September, which seen them debut a much more mature sound, building onto something more along the lines of stadium rock a la Foals.
Clubs are considered by many local promoters as Leicester’s next big thing, you can catch them on the Saturday of Handmade as they headline the BBC Introducing Stage.
