Members of the voice over actors union SAG-AFTRA have been voting on possible strike action over treatment and pay.

In recent weeks, the hashtags #PerformanceMatters and #IAmOnBoard2015 have been appearing on Twitter as several prominent figures in the game VO industry such as Tara Strong (Mortal Kombat, Batman: Arkham series), Sean Schemmel (Dragon Ball), Ken Lally (Resident Evil), Jennifer Hale (Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect) and Wil Wheaton (Tom Clancy series) voiced their support for strike action.

Among the union’s proposals are a limit being placed on the amount of time a performer spends on a “vocally stressful” performance, more stunt coordinators for performance/motion capture sessions, bonus payments for actors on titles that sell more than two million copies and more transparency during audition processes.

The outcome of the vote, held this week, will be known in due course.
