Some new titles were unveiled at the PlayStation Experience Keynote speech on Saturday.
PlayStation gave users a look at some of their 2016 releases:
- Multi-player online battle arena title Paragon will launch on PS4 and Vita in 2016, with an early access beta coming to PS4 in the New Year.
- Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, the sequel to the Level-5 and Studio Ghibli RPG, will be exclusively on PlayStation 4 from Bandai Namco.
- Hob, another PS4 exclusive, will see players dropped into a mysterious world where they can only find out the story of the game by exploring their surroundings.
- Baseball title The Show 16 was showcased in a new trailer and details of a MVP Special Edition of the game ahead of a March launch.
- Stormcloud Games unveiled new combat RPG Brut@l with a first look at the game’s fast paced gameplay.
- Historical action RPG Nioh was given a new trailer after it’s début at Tokyo Game Show.
- SNK Playmore showed off details of some of the 50 characters that will be included in The King of Fighters XIV.
- Remastered editions of Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle will be on PlayStation 4 in 2016.
- The Last Blade 2, Brawlhalla, Hitman Go, Don’t Starve Together, Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey and Invisible, Inc will all be making the leap to PlayStation devices from PC, arcade and mobile devices during 2016.
- Yakuza Zero will launch in North America in 2016 on PS4, with Yakuza 5 will be available this week on PS3.
- Dead Star sees players battle each other at the edge of the universe in 10v10 matches to survive in space, while also searching for the ‘Capital Ship’ – a ruined ship holding the key to freedom.
As well as all the previews, there were also some releases announced at the event. Action RPG Bastion comes to PS Vita (with PS4 Cross Buy) along with The Bit.Trip – a collection of the first six Bit.Trip games – which also supports Cross Buy. Finally Nuclear Throne, which was first released through Steam Early Access in 2013, will also be available on PS4 and PS Vita.
Also on PSN now are fast paced strategy adventure Guns Up where players build bases and armies to fight each other for dominance. Also available now is Fat Princess Adventures, an action RPG that allows up to 4 players – either through online or split screen ‘couch’ co-op – to battle it out through a magical land. For those with a PS Plus account, there will be a free DLC pack for Guns Up available as well as a discount for Fat Princess Adventures. Those who order Fat Princess Adventures before December 15 will also receive the Weapons of Might DLC pack for free.
